Jalees Sherwani, who was known for her exceptional writing skill in Bollywood and wrote the lyrics of the songs like Humka Peeni Hai and Pande Ji Seeti from the Salman Khan starring movie Dabbang passed away on 1 August 2018. He was above 65 years old and his death is certainly a huge loss for Bollywood. Jalees was born on 29 December at Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh. He spent his childhood at Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh and completed her schooling from the same city. He enrolled for pursuing his graduation at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in 1965 and after the completion of his graduation, he started writing poems, dialogs, and lyrics.
He belonged to a Muslim family from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. There is not much information about his parents’ name. He married Rani Sherwani in 1985. There is not much information about his children.
Jalees was an enthusiast for reading and writing since his schooldays. He started writing at his level when he was quite young. He started his screenwriter career in Bollywood with the film ‘Pratighat‘ which was released in 1987. Later, he wrote outstandingly for more films and left an impression in Bollywood. He came to the limelight after writing for the films such as Tumko Na Bhul Payenge Hum, Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam, Kanwarlal, Ek Tha Raja, Mafiya, and Sangram. He is chiefly known for writing the dialogs and lyrics of the Salman Khan films. He also had been the president of ‘Film Writers Association’ for few years. Some of the other films for which he worked include Partner, Hello Brothers, Loafer, Baaghi, Chashme Baddoor, Paying guest, Aakrosh, and Mai Aurr Mrs. Khanna.
According to the media reports, Jalees Sherwani had been suffering from some health complication for the last two weeks and he was at the hospital. On 1 August 2018, he was passed away due to a massive heart attack as reported by the media. His dead body was sent to his habitation Andheri Pashchim, Mumbai.
