Beginning of his career

Ramsay worked as a commis chef at the Worxton House Hotel, Banbury in the mid-1980s. Later, Ramsay moved to London and worked in several restaurants before joining the British chef named Marco Pierre White at Harveys, Wandsworth, London.

He then went to study French cuisine under Albert Roux at Le Gavroche in London’s Mayfair. Then he moved to Paris to work with both the Michelin-starred chefs Guy Savoy and Joel Robuchon. He continued to work in France for three years before taking a job as a personal chef on a private yacht in Bermuda. He got an exposure to Italian cuisine while travelling.

Advancement of career

In 1933, Ramsay returned to London to work as a head chef under Pierre Koffmann at La Tante Clarie, Chelsea.

After that, he went to work with Marco Pierre White once again at his restaurant Roosemore which was renamed as Aubergine. Ramsay was offered a 10% share of the business. Philanthropy

In 2005, Ramsay organised the Gordon Ramsay “Buy a Brick” appeal to help the Scottish Spina Bifida Association (also known as Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland) raise funds for the new Family Support Centre and Head Office in Glasglow. In 2006, he helped the same association raise funds to run the support centre. In 2007, he helped the association by hosting a St Andrew’s Day Gala Dinner at Stirling Castle, Scotland, which later became an annual event.

In 2005, Ramsay and Indian chef Madhur Jaffrey teamed up to help the international development charity group, Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO) with its event known as Spice Up Your Life. For VSO’s work in HIV and AIDS, the charity’s goal was to raise 100,000 pounds. In 2005, Ramsay and his wife became the first couple, who were the ambassadors of the charity group Women’s Aid. To support Women’s Aid, they ran the Flora Families marathon in the same year.

In 2006, a London newspaper company known as the London Evening Standard reported that the TV show Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares (2004-2014) had shown fake scenes of the Bonaparte’s restaurant, Silsden, West Yorkshire. They claimed the condition of the restaurant shown in the show was fake and was not hazardous to health. False Acquisition on Ramsay’s TV show

In 2007, Ramsay’s show Kitchen Nightmares was accused by the ex-manager of the New York restaurant Dillon’s or Purnima of setting up fake problems in the restaurants. He claimed that the problems were created by Ramsay and his team in the restaurants so that the show could portray Ramsay as if he were improving the restaurants. According to sources, in 2009, Foxtrot Oscar, London, Chelsea area, one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants sold pre-prepared meals to its customers. It was revealed that the other three gastropubs of Ramsay used the same process to deliver food to the customers. Later one of the official members of Ramsay’s team clarified that this is a standard procedure that the restaurants follow to increase their supply as the restaurants have limited space to prepare food. In 2015, Ramsay lost the case against his father-in-law Christopher Hutcheson for the York & Albany pub. Ramsay claimed that his father-in-law had misused the “ghostwriting” machine to forge his signature on the 25-year-old agreement that was shown in the court. The agreement claims that Ramsay is the personal guarantor for the 640,000 pounds annual rent of the York & Albany pub.
