Anumita Nadesan was born on Tuesday, 22 January 2002 (age 22 years; as of 2024) in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. Her zodiac sign is Aquarius. She grew up in a Malayali family in Thiruvananthapuram. Anumita completed her primary school at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kodunganoor, Kerala.

She pursued her secondary education from 2016 to 2018 at the Christ Nagar Hr. Sec. School, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Anumita pursued a bachelor’s degree in design at Footwear Design and Development Institute, Hyderabad from 2019 to 2023. She was 6 years old when she began learning Carnatic music and started learning Hindustani music in her twenties.

Content Creator & YouTuber

Before rising to fame, Anumita Nadesan was a regular content creator on social media handles like Instagram and YouTube, where she posted her reels on covers of popular Hollywood songs. She shared her first Bollywood cover ‘O Rangrez’ from the movie ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ on Instagram. This reel got noticed after the Indian actresses Sonam Kapoor and Anna Ben reposted it.

Anumita became an overnight sensation in December 2020, when she shared her singing video on the rendition of the ‘Jashn-e-Bahara’ song from the 2008 Bollywood film Jodha Akbar. This reel crossed over 2 million views within a month. She later made a full version of this song and shared it on YouTube.

 

The online fame motivated Anumita to make more reels and videos until she started getting featured and playback singing projects.

As a singer, Anumita Nadesan was first featured in the song ‘Katputli Ke Dhaage,'(2021) which received huge acclaim. In February 2022, she released her original song ‘Khwaab,’ (2022) which went viral, gathering over 30M+ streams and over a million listeners.

• Anumita joined a B. A. in Music in Trivandrum but dropped it later, thinking music was not for her. She enrolled herself in a Bachelor’s in Design. During this period she realized that she could not separate herself from singing, and started making her singing reels.
