Gaurav debuted in the television show Barrister Roy (2006-2007) aired on Doordarshan National (DD National). Around the same time, he appeared in the show, Salaam UP aired on ETV UP. He also appeared in the series, Solhah Singaarr (2006-2008), as the character Sameer. He played a negative character in the popular series, Balika Vadhu (2008). He appeared in the television series, Adhikaar: Ek Kasam Ek Tapasya (2015) and Rajat Rekha: The Silver Lining (2017-2018), both aired on Doordarshan National.

Film

Gaurav Prateek’s first film in Bollywood was Pranali – The Tradition (2008).

Gaurav Prateek’s first film in a lead role in Bollywood was Rukke Padge (2010) as the character Prem.

He played the lead character named Raaj Mathur in the film Pyaar Ki Miss Call (2013). He essayed the character of Vikas Patel in the film, Hamein Haq Chahiye Haq Se (2017).
