Deepak Parashar, along with Nafisa Ali and Poonam Dhillon, became Mr India/India Prince in the year 1976. After that, he was chosen to model for the renowned “Only Vimal” suitings in the late 1970s.

Deepak Parashar began his acting career with the Hindi film ‘Insaaf Ka Tarazu’ in the year 1980. He played the role of Ashok Sharma in this film.

He has also worked with experienced actors in movies like Aap To Aise Na The (1980), Pyar Ki Manzil (1981), Sannata (1981), Pyar Kiya Hai Pyar Karenge (1986), Awam (1987), Padosi Ki Biwi (1988), Khooni Murdaa (1989), Aaja Re O Sajna (1994), Aaj Ka Maseeha (1995), Barood (1998), Hai Kaun Woh (1999), Champion (2000), Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke (2004), and Jaise Karni Vaisi Bharni (2007). He gained immense popularity with the film ‘Nikaah’ in the year 1982 in which he played the role of Wasim Ahmed. His film Nikaah was initially named ‘Talaq Talaq Talaq,’ but the name of the film was changed after some people belonging to the Muslim community raised objections to it.

In 1983, he produced a film titled Achha Bura; Hrishikesh Mukherjee was the film’s director. He took part in a contest called the United Producers contest, which had previously launched the career of a superstar named Rajesh Khanna. Deepak won this contest, which opened up even more opportunities for him in the film industry.


In the year 1977, Deepak Parashar started his journey as an assistant director or second unit director with the film titled ‘Bhumika.’ Prior to his involvement in ‘Bhumika’ Deepak Parashar honed his craft as an assistant director in the critically acclaimed film ‘Ankur’ in 1974. He continued his dedication to storytelling by working as an assistant director in the 1975 film ‘Nishant’. Deepak’s success in modelling caught the attention of Bollywood, the Indian film industry. He began his journey in Bollywood as an assistant director, working on iconic films like Bhumika, Nishant, and Ankur. Through these experiences, Deepak had the chance to work closely with talented directors like Shyam Benegal. This helped him learn all the minute details of directing films. Thereafter, he started receiving offers to act in films.


Deepak Parashar had a successful film career and also entertained audiences with his talent in various TV shows. Amongst these notable works were  ‘Aandhiyan’ (1993), ‘Raat Ki Pukar’ (1994), ‘Swaabhimaan’ (1995), ‘Tamanna’ (1997), ‘Rishtey’ (2000), and  ‘Neem Neem Shahad Shahad’ (2011).

  • Following a life-altering incident that caused a significant upheaval in his personal life, Deepak Parashar found himself working with B-Grade films. During this time, he explored the world of movies and took on roles in films that were not part of the usual mainstream. These films allowed him to express his creativity and helped him grow as an artist.
  • Deepak Parashar thought about joining the military because his dad served in the Indian Army, or maybe applying for a job at an airline. However, he mentioned that fate had other plans for me as he ended up becoming a model. Eventually, he moved on to acting.

After winning the Mr. Delhi title, he flew to Mumbai for the final competition and became Mr. India. This victory opened doors for him in Mumbai, bringing him recognition and a positive reputation.
  • Deepak Parashar once told that he married a fan named Sarita. They had a daughter named Radhika. When Radhika was 5 months old, they were invited to Dubai for a film event where she would be honoured. While in Dubai, he went on a boat ride, but unfortunately, the boat was involved in a terrible accident. Two people who were with him lost their lives, and he was severely injured.
