Producer
In February 1998, Deepak Dhar started working as a senior producer at MTV and continued until December 2001. After that, he joined the Star Network as a group head in January 2001 and worked there until January 2006. In February 2006, he worked as a creative director at Endemol Shine India. In 2006, Deepak Dhar, along with Rajesh Kamat, started Endemol India (which later became Endemol Shine India in 2015) in a small office in Andheri, Mumbai.

Dhar then presented and produced the reality show Bigg Boss in 2006.
Later, Dhar created a market for comedy programs and found talented comedians like Raju Srivastav and Kapil Sharma. The CEO of Star TV India at that time, Sameer Nair, supported Dhar’s comedy programs.
He got promoted to the position of Managing Director in the company in January 2008. In the same year, Kamat went to work for Viacom18, where he began a new TV channel called Colors. Afterwards, the TV show Bigg Boss started airing on Colors for its next season. In April 2012, Deepak Dhar became the CEO of Endemol India. In 2015, Endemol India was renamed Endemol Shine India. He later chose to step down from his position as managing director in December 2017. While he was at Endemol Shine India, he produced many shows and web series like The Kapil Sharma Show (2018-2020) on Sony Entertainment, Anaamika (2014) on Sony Entertainment, Bigg Boss Kannada on Colors Kannada Channel, Bigg Boss Telugu on Colors Telugu Channel, The Trial (2023) on Netflix, and others.

In the same month, Deepak Dhar started working as the Founder & Group CEO at Banijay Asia & Endemol Shine India.
