Career

On 15 August 1973, Rao’s father started a clinic for him. His clinic is located in T. Begur (a rural area), which is 35 km away from Bangalore (Bangalore-Pune National Highway).

On every Sunday, he visits his clinic and organises a free checkup camp there. He provides free medicines and food to the patients. He works with a proficient team including his wife and his two sons.

His clinic is considered as one of the world’s longest-running free clinics. Since 1973, he has treated around 1.4 million patients and running this clinic for more than 44 years.

Dr B. Ramana Rao had filed a case against Hemanth Kashyap, who worked with Kannada news channel Public TV, for blackmailing him to pay Rs. 50 lakhs.
