Anu Sithara Pulivetti Salam [1]The Times of India was born on Monday, 21 August 1995 (age 28 years; as of 2023) in Kalpetta, Wayanad, Kerala. She completed her schooling at SKMJ Higher Secondary School, Kalpetta, Wayanad, Kerala. She pursued a bachelor’s degree at the WMO Arts and Science College, Muttil, Kalpetta, Wayanad, Kerala. She is a professional dancer, who pursued her higher studies with Mohiniyattam as her main subject at the Kerala Kalamandalam. She is passionate about dancing and started a dance school (Navarassa) at her home in 2020. Anu Sithara made her debut in the Malayalam film industry as a child artist with Suresh Achoos’s directorial Pottas Bomb (2013).

She did a cameo as ‘young Thulasi’ in the 2013 Sathyan Anthikad’s Malayalam romantic comedy Oru Indian Pranayakadha. In 2016, Anu Sithara was cast in the film Happy Wedding in which she played the role of ‘Shahina’. Her breakthrough came in 2017 when she was cast as Malini in Ramante Edanthottam directed by Ranjith Sankar; Anu Sithara played the lead role opposite Malayalam actor Kunchacko Boban in the film. She received critical appreciation and accolades for her performance in Ramante Edanthottam.

In 2018, she was cast as the lead actress in the biographical sports drama Captain directed by Prajesh Sen; the film was based on the life of former Indian national football team captain V. P. Sathyan. Anu Sithara portrayed Anitha Sathyan, the wife of V.P Sathyan, and her character was well-received among the audience.

Anu Sithara was cast as one of the lead actresses in the 2018 Malayalam-language crime thriller film ‘Oru Kuprasidha Payyan’ directed by Madhupal; she played the role of ‘Jalaja’ and won critical appreciation and accolades.
