Her father’s name is Anand Mehta, and her mother’s name is Anabel Mehta. Her father is a renowned industrialist of Gujarati origin, who is a former World Bridge Champion, and who owns several residential properties in Breach Candy, one of the posh areas in Mumbai. Her mother is a social worker of British origin. Her mother was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 2017 for her work through her NGO Apnalaya. She is the only child of her parents.

Paediatrician

After completing her studies, she started practising at the JJ Hospital Mumbai as a Paediatrician; however, after her marriage to Sachin, she quit her job as a doctor and became a homemaker to take care of the family. • Her marriage with Sachin Tendulkar hyped up the public so much that a cable operator offered Rs 40 lakhs to Sachin to telecast his marriage live; however, he rejected the offer, citing the marriage as a private function.

• In October 2021, her name, along with Sachin and her father, Anand, appeared in Pandora Papers as beneficial owners (BO) of an offshore company named Saas International Limited, which was liquidated in 2016. ^[5]The Indian Express
