Career

In 2020, he established his YouTube channel Twin Throttlers’ on which he posts motovlogging videos that showcase him performing daring stunts on his bike like wheelies, driving at high speed on public roads, and his travel escapades. In 2021, he received a Silver Play Button for his channel.

Later, he ventured into acting. He was cast in the lead role in the Tamil film Manjal Veeran, produced by The Budget Company. The first look of the film was released on 29 June 2023, on his birthday. The poster featured the YouTuber riding a bullet and doing a wheelie while wielding a mace.

Controversies

A Thread of Traffic Rule Violations

In September 2022, Vasan faced allegations of reckless driving and endangering others, as he shared a video of himself and fellow influencer GP Muthu riding at a dangerous speed in Palakkad, Kerala. In a video, Vasan can be seen driving at a speed of more than 150 kmph while riding on his Kawasaki Z900 superbike. To make matters worse, his pillion, GP Muthu, was riding without a safety helmet. Vasan was booked under section 279 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act.

In December 2022, Vasan, along with 300 others, was booked for obstructing traffic in Cuddalore while he was on his way to inaugurate the office of director Chellam Senthil. Over 300 youths riding motorcycles joined him on his way, slowing down traffic movement at several locations in the town.

Police said that no permission was granted for the motorcycle rally. Following a complaint lodged by Sub-Inspector Kathiravan, the police booked a case against Vasan, Senthil, and others under Sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 283 (danger or obstruction in public way or line of navigation), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), read with section 4 of Tamil Nadu Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act. [3]The Hindu In January 2023, Chennai police seized a car in which Vasan was travelling in Kodambakkam as it did not have a number plate. Vasan wasn’t driving the car. The driver, Praveen, allegedly received a fine for not having his driver’s license with him. In June 2023, he was fined for exceeding the maximum speed limit at Pudumund in the Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu. Vasan was on a tour in the Nilgiris at that time. Police personnel tried to halt him for speeding at Hill Bunk near Ooty, but he escaped. Thereafter, the police personnel alerted the nearby Pudumund Police, who positioned themselves along the route to capture Vasan. Assistant Sub-inspector of Police (ASI) of Pudumond police station Senthil Kumar halted Vasan and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 for speeding, under the Motor Vehicles Act. Driving License Suspension For 10 years

On 17 September 2023, TTF Vasan had an accident while attempting a wheelie on the service road of the Chennai-Vellore highway in the Thamal area near Kanchipuram. A wheelie is a stunt in which the front wheel of the two-wheeler is raised off the road for a brief period. He was thrown off his bike and suffered minor injuries. The Baluchetty Chatram police booked Vasan under section 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). On 19 September, the police arrested him and notified the Regional Transport Office (RTO) of his outstanding traffic violations. In October 2023, Vasan’s driving license was suspended for the next ten years, until 5 October 2033, due to his reckless motorcycle riding. Booked for Threatening Journalist

In March 2023, he was booked in a case for allegedly threatening a journalist and abusing the police department in a video on his YouTube channel. A case was registered against him under sections 294 (b) (uttering obscene words) and 506 (i) (criminal intimidation) of IPC. YouTuber and journalist Madan Ravichandran released a video in which he interviewed Vasan about the cases for his alleged traffic violations. In response to that video, Vasan uploaded a video on his YouTube channel in which he was seen issuing a life threat to Ravichandran and also abusing the police department. [6]The New Indian Express

Rammed His Car Into A Two-wheeler In Chennai

In July 2023, Vasan stirred controversy after a car in which he was travelling smashed into a two-wheeler on Nelson Manickam Road, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Reportedly, the driver of the two-wheeler was injured while Vasan, Chellam Senthil (the director of Vasan’s debut film Manjal Veeran), and a friend who accompanied them in the car remained unhurt. Soon after, the accident Vasan allegedly booked an auto and left the site. According to reports, Senthil was allegedly driving the car at an excessive speed when it lost control and hit a pole near a gas station after crashing a motorcyclist.   • On 8 October 2022, TTF Vasan, along with S. Ganesh Babu, created a new world record by riding non-stop from Tamil Nadu to Kashmir 3500 Km within 1 and a half days (39 hours). The achievement was recorded in Kalams World Records.

  • He refers to his fanbase as Twin Throttlers Family (TTF).
  • Vasan was riding a motorcycle worth around Rs 20 lakh and wearing a suit worth Rs 2 lakh when he performed the stunt on 17 September 2023, which ultimately led to the suspension of his license for 10 years. Although Vasan applied for bail, his plea was rejected by Madras High Court. Justice C.V. Karthikeyan decided not to release the biker on bail on the basis of the Additional Public Prosecutor’s submissions which stated that the biker had 4.5 million young followers who looked up to him and asked their parents to purchase expensive motorcycles that cost lakhs of rupees. Some of these also used these motorcycles for crimes like chain snatching and drove them recklessly on public roads, putting other drivers and pedestrians in danger. [9]The Hindu
