Tanzim Hasan Sakib was born on Sunday, 20 October 2002 (age 21 years, as of 2023) in Tilakchanpur village, Sylhet, Bangladesh. His zodiac sign is Libra. He completed his schooling at Balagonj Government D.N. High School, Bangladesh. He did his further studies at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP). When he was young, he received a talent pool scholarship for the PEC exam while studying at Adityapur Government Primary School in Balaganj.

Career
In eighth grade, he got chosen for the under-13 national team at Moulvibazar District Stadium. He finished a three-month bowling course at Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong and enrolled in Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan. During his training at BKSP, he participated in matches for the Bangladesh national under-17 cricket team in India in 2016 and the under-19 team in England and Sri Lanka in 2019. He played his first List A match for Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan in the 2018–19 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League on 27 March 2019. In December 2019, he was selected to be part of Bangladesh’s team for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He played his first first-class match for Sylhet Division in the 2020–21 National Cricket League on 29 March 2021. He made his T20 debut on 5 June 2021 in Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League in a match between Abahani Limited and Brothers. In the tournament, he was awarded the Man of the Match.
In December 2021, he joined the Bangladesh team for the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies. Tanzim made his ODI debut on 15 September 2023 in the Asia Cup against India. In the 2023 Asia Cup, he was selected as the substitute player in the Bangladesh squad. In his first international match in the Asia Cup 2023, Sakib dismissed the India captain Rohit Sharma. In an interview, he talked about taking Rohit’s wicket and said,
First wicket of Rohit bhai was a dream wicket. I just concentrate on line and length. I mentally prepare myself for a long spell. That ball (the last ball to Shami), I believed I could bowl the perfect ball. Very good feeling.”
In November 2023, he participated in his final List-A game for Bangladesh ‘A’ against India ‘A’ in the ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup tournament in Sri Lanka. During the match, he dismissed the opener Sai Sudharsan and the all-rounder Riyan Parag.

In September 2023, Tanzim received criticism for some Facebook posts considered misogynistic by various media outlets. People in the country had mixed opinions. Some argue that everyone has the right to freedom of expression as per the country’s constitution. Tanzim apologized to the Bangladesh Cricket Board, expressing that he didn’t mean to hurt anyone and to those who were offended.
