Shawn Rhoden

Shawn Rhoden was a Jamaican IFBB bodybuilder who became Mr. Olympia in 2018. He died of a fatal heart attack on 6 November 2021.

Shawn Rhoden was born on Wednesday, 2 April 1975 (age 46 years; at the time of death) in Kingston, Jamaica. His zodiac sign is Aries. Shawn was inclined towards sports since his teenage years. He used to play soccer and cricket in his teens. In 1990, he shifted to the US from Jamaica where he developed an interest in bodybuilding.

Career

When he was 17 years old, he started working out in the gym to gain the required body strength and body size for bodybuilding. During the initial years of his bodybuilding, he got severe injuries and took a break from bodybuilding for a small period of time.

He was then encouraged by Mr. Universe Yohhnie Shambouger to continue his training and participate in bodybuilding competitions. After a severe injury in his right hand in 1993, his doctors advised him to quit bodybuilding. Although his doctors advised him to leave bodybuilding, he continued his training and went on to participate in many bodybuilding competitions. Due to some personal and professional setbacks, he once became an alcoholic and took a break from bodybuilding. He participated in various seasons of Mr. Olympia contest, professional men’s bodybuilding contest, and in 2018, he won the title for the first time.

 

Controversy

He landed into a huge controversy in October 2018, when he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Salt Lake City, Utah. In July 2019, he was banned from participating in Mr. Olympia contest 2019 as he was charged in rape, object rape, and sexual abuse case. [5]JBH News [6]Bleacher Report
