Shahab was born on 29 September in New Delhi. His zodiac sign is Libra. He did his schooling from Anglo Arabic Sr. Sec. School, Delhi. After that, he joined Maharaja Agrasen College, University of Delhi and did B. A. from there. He did PG diploma in mass media & creative writing from Jamia Millia Islamia. Later, he joined the National School of Drama in New Delhi.
Family
He was born into a Muslim family. His father owned a kite shop and worked as a watch repairer in New Delhi. His mother used to run a beauty parlour at home. Shahab’s father died when he was too young. He has one brother Saif Ali and one sister Syed Saba Ali.

Career
When he was in college, he started acting in theatre plays. After completing his college, he worked as a journalist. After a few months of his job, he joined NSD and left journalism.
He has worked in many theatres plays with the prominent artists including Mohan Maharishi, Anuradha Kapur, Abhilash Pillai, and Ovlyakuli Khodjakuli. He has worked with India’s first live entertainment, theatre, and leisure destination ‘Kingdom of Dreams.’
