Arrested For Attacking Prithvi Shaw’s Car
On 16 February 2023, Sapna was arrested for attacking the car of the Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw. On 15 February 2023, Sapna, along with her friends, was at a hotel in Santacruz, Mumbai where Prithvi Shaw was also present with his friends. Reportedly, Sapna and her friends requested Prithvi for selfies but he refused their request, which further turned into an argument. According to the local police, Sapna and her friend Shobhit Thakur then hit Shaw’s car with a baseball bat and threatened them to pay Rs 50,000 to settle the matter or she would file a complaint against Sapna. However, when Sapna’s advocate was asked about the incident, he said,
Sapan was a fan of Shaw and just wanted a selfie with him but the cricketer was drunk and misbehaved with her. He even assaulted Sapna with a wooden bat in a misuse of power and position.”
Shaw and his friends then filed a complaint, against Sapna and her friends at the Oshiwara Police Station under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 148 (rioting), 384 (extortion), and 506 (criminal intimidation). [3]The Indian Express
