Theatre

Sanjeev Tyagi embarked on his acting career in the realm of theatres. He worked in some theatrical productions including ‘Devdas’ (2018), which was performed at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai. In this production, he played the role of ‘Chunnilal.’ It was a 150 minutes-long play, adapted from Sarat Chandra Chatterjee’s Bengali romance novel; Saif Hyder Hasan directed the play.

Sanjeev Tyagi made his debut in the Hindi television industry with a DD National show. In 2003, he appeared in the daily soap opera ‘Kabhi Aaye Na Judaai,’ which aired on the StarPlus channel. Tyagi played the role of ‘Mr. Malhotra’ in the popular soap opera ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii’ (2005). Facts/Trivia

  • Sanjeev Tyagi started acting in theatrical productions when he was in college. After spending several years honing his skills in theatre, he decided to try appearing in Bollywood films for which he moved from Uttar Pradesh to Mumbai, where Sanjeev got the opportunity to appear in a DD National show, marking his television debut. Tyagi, however, continued to perform in theatrical productions as well.
  • In an interview, Tyagi shared his experience of joining the television series ‘Crime Patrol’ and revealed that the opportunity came to him relatively effortlessly. He mentioned that it was a friend of his who recommended him to the cast selection team of ‘Crime Patrol.’ The team then reached out to Tyagi, leading to his eventual selection for the role of an inspector in the series.
