Sameer Dharmadhikari is an Indian actor. He is active in the Marathi and Hindi entertainment industries. Before entering into acting he worked as a model and represented more than 100 brands across India. He continues to be the brand ambassador for some of India’s biggest brands such as Raymond Suitings, LifeBuoy Soap, Colgate and ICICI Bank. Starting from modelling his journey went to Theatre, Television, Films, and Web series. He was nominated for the Best Actor Award twice and won the 6th Bharat Ratna Dr Ambedkar Award in 2016.

Film
Sameer’s debut film was ‘Nirmala Machindra Kamble’ (1999). It was a Marathi film and he played the role of Shyamrao ‘Guruji’ Kamble. He got a breakthrough in the Hindi film ‘Satta’ (2003) directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. He played the lead role of Vivek Chauhan with co-star Ravina Tandon. For this film, he was nominated for the Best Debut Actor at the Zee Cine Awards.
In 2007, Sameer played the lead role of Shekhar in the Marathi film ‘Nirop’. It was directed by Sachin Kundalkar and produced by Aparna Dharmadhikari (Sameer’s wife). This film won the Best Feature Film in Marathi Award at the 55th National Film Awards. [1]Times Of India
Apart from these, he worked in ‘Agnipankh’ (2004), ‘Raincoat’ (2004), ‘Katputtli’ (2006), ‘Restaurant’ (2006), ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ (2008) etc. ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ won several film fare awards and the Best Feature Film Award at the New Generation Cinema Lyon Film Festival. It was also nominated for the Best Screenplay award at the 2009 Asia Pacific Screen Awards.

Sameer’s debut TV serial was Raja Aur Rancho. It was a detective series which aired in India on DD Metro from 1997 to 1998. In this, Sameer had episodic roles. Sameer worked in ‘Ghar EK Mandir’ (2000), ‘Shree Ganesh’ (2000-2003), and ‘Main Teri Parchhain Hoon’ (2008-2009). In this serial, he played the lead role of Siddartha Tyagi.
Apart from these, he played the role of Gangadhar Rao Newalkar in Jhansi Ki Rani (2009), Suddhodana in Buddha (2013-2014), King Bindusara Maurya in Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat (2015-2016), Chhatrapati Shahu in Peshwa Bajirao (2017), and ‘Bheti Lagi Jeeva’ (2019).

Income
Sameer’s first income was Rs 120 which he earned by selling a lantern. In an interview, he spoke about it and said,
When I was in school, I used to make lantern and sell it and total it was 120rs and that time roller skates were for 180rs so my dad added another 60rs and got the roller skates.”
