Saibal Bhattacharya is an Indian actor and scriptwriter who mainly works in the Bengali television industry. He hit the headlines on 9 August 2022 when he tried to kill himself at his residence in Kolkata. Soon after he hurt himself with a sharp weapon, he posted a live video on Facebook and blamed his wife and mother-in-law for the same. He was rushed to the Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital by the local police in the city after his video went viral on social media.

- According to some media reports, Saibal Bhattacharya was drunk, he hit himself with a sharp weapon at his residence on 8 August 2022. Reportedly, he was out of work and was depressed and suffering from substance abuse. He mentioned on one of his social media videos that he was not satisfied with his personal life and blamed his wife and mother-in-law for the circumstances.
