Rina Dhaka was born on Saturday, 9 March 1968 (age 55 years; as of 2023). Her zodiac sign is Pisces. She grew up in Chandigarh and Shimla. After completing her schooling, Rina did her graduation from Government College for Girls in Chandigarh. She got enrolled in a fashion design course after she moved to Delhi with her family. Fashion Designer

Rina Dhaka joined the fashion industry by taking up a few modeling assignments. Later, she launched her fashion design career by founding a small boutique with the assistance of designer Rohit Khosla. Rina emerged in the fashion industry in the late 80s and quickly gained recognition for creating churidar made of synthetic fibers in the 90s. Her work has been observed for its intricate detailing, innovative use of fabrics, and exquisite craftsmanship. She was part of a group of designers in 2009, who designed female beachwear that was criticized for being improper in Indian culture. In July 2010, she launched a collection inspired by a spider’s web and was featured by Indian actresses Lara Dutta.

Rina Dhaka displays her collection under the label ‘Rina Dhaka’ and has stores in India and abroad. Rina says,

This is how my journey began – starting up from small boutiques such as Mutiny and Ensemble to Carma – Hauz Khas to coming up in big malls and doing various fashion shows and making my label, a brand, internationally.”


In 2015, Rina Dhaka was part of a television show ‘Style and the City,’ that focused on fashion across Indian cities.

She also made an appearance as ‘herself’ in the Bollywood film Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar (2021).

In 2018, Rina showcased the ‘Explorer Spring Summer 2018’ collection with Bollywood actress Nidhi Agerwal as the showstopper.

In 2015, she came up with her bridal collection in Indian Bridal Fashion Week with Bollywood actress Akshara Hasaan.

Rina Dhaka has collaborated with many brands such as a plus-size store called ‘aLL,’ where she launched a collection of maternity wear. In 2020, she launched her 2020 collection named ‘Sustainable Romanticism,’ in collaboration with the brand ‘LIVA.'[2]Vogue. In 2021, Rina associated with Ruma Devu for promoting a tribal fashion show.
