Pankit’s father, Late Jagdish Thakker, was a stockbroker. In 2021, Pankit’s father passed away. While speaking about his father’s death in an interview, he stated,

2021 was a very good year for me professionally, but personally I had a setback as I lost my father. The year will always make me feel the great loss which can’t be recovered. I really loved my dad and he was only the support system of my life, who encouraged me to keep moving on. I am thankful to all my friends and family who stood by me during the hard time when I lost my father.”

I am waiting for the pandemic to end so that I can file for divorce. We have been living separately since 2015 and now both of us find ourselves at a better place and in happy state in life. We still respect each other and things are very clear between us. We have mutually decided to stay responsible towards our son. And I am fine with him staying with his mother. I lost my mom when I was quite young and I understand how important a mom is in a kid’s life. We are filing our divorce with mutual consent.”

He further added,

I always respect for who she is. But at times things are not in our hands. We tried our best to be together but we failed and have eventually found peace in living separately. I married her after falling for her and going against my family as she eight years elder to me and I was just 21 at that time. I was at peak of my career and believed that was a right time god is blessing me with everything I wished for.”

Reportedly, it was rumoured that Pankit Thakker was dating Vahbiz Dorabjee, an Indian television actress. However, Pankit’s wife, Prachi Thakker, denied the news of her husband dating Vahbiz Dorabjee. She quoted,

Acting

In 2001, Pankit Thakker debuted with the popular Hindi TV serial ‘Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelii’ in which he played the role of Harsh. He talked about the television show and its director Ekta Kapoor during an interview. He quoted,

All that I am today is because Ekta Kapoor noticed me and gave me a chance to start my career as a hero, and I hope to work with Ekta in one of her shows in the coming future. In all the roles I have played till date, I have been able to achieve acclaim and appreciation as an actor, and I am thankful to all the producers I have worked with who have all given me diverse roles and trusted my abilities to perform them.”

Some of his other Hindi TV shows are Tu Kahe Agar (2002), Tum Bin Jaaoon Kahaan (2003), Special Squad (2004), Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan (2002), India Calling (2005), and Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant (2016). During an interview, he shared his experience of portraying different characters in television shows. He said,

By the grace of God, audience has loved the way the story has progressed and the journey of my character. I have got an amazing response for the show, usually people are labelled as a romantic actor, or intense actor or a soft guy or macho guy. Luckily, I have been able to break that barrier and have done romance, comedy, action all roles on television in a career spanning 20 years.”

He then appeared as a lead character in some television shows including Dill Mil Gaye (2007), Dharampatni (2011), and Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha (2021). In an interview, while talking about his role in Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha, he said,

I have an author backed role in the show Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha and my character is a very very integral part of the story. This show is high on concept and is not the kind of narrative you see often on Indian television. I am glad that makers Sonali and Amir Jaffar have chosen me for this very special role, and I can’t thank them enough.”

• Pankit Thakker said in an interview that his birth year had been misrepresented on the internet. He quoted,
  

  I don’t understand who got that wrong detail and I don’t know how to get that out. Due to the wrong birth year that’s online, people probably think I am 59 whereas I am 41! I don’t know why no one does a fact check with actors before putting up things online.”

  He further added,

  People who know me since many years, know my age and I don’t have to explain them. But there are many young makers and casting agents who have entered industry and when they do a search online, they see this detail and want to offer me grandfather roles. Maybe there are others who don’t even approach me after doing an online search on me because they feel I won’t fit the bill.”

  The depression I felt during my heavier years was hard to kick and to me, my weight and my sadness were very much intertwined. If someone asked me then if I’d trade five years of my life to be thin, I probably would have said yes. I probably would have even given up more years than that. I would have done almost anything, so I can relate to people who turn to pills (tried it), exercise fads (bought ’em all), crazy diets (been there) and whatever else in hopes that it just may work for them.”
