After completing her law studies in Mexico, Laura Alvarez started working as a lawyer. Thereafter, she worked as a banker to assist various rural communities.

After marrying Jeremy Corbyn, Laura Alvarez left her banking job and moved to England. In London, she briefly worked as a human rights activist and served as an administrator at the National Commission of Human Rights Commission.
Later, she joined the Organise Corbyn Inspired Socialist Alliance (OCISA) group in the UK as its member.
Entrepreneur
Alvarez runs Café Mam, a company importing coffee and chocolate from Mexico, in London. The company was established by her in June 2013, and the products are organic and Fairtrade certified.
