Junmoni Rabha was an Indian police personnel who came into the eyes of the media after filing an FIR and arresting her fiance after learning that he was a fraud. She was killed in a road accident on 15 May 2023.

Controversy

Junmoni attracted controversy on 5 June 2022, when she was alleged to be involved in a corruption case. She was suspended and arrested by the police for the same. She was alleged of receiving money from two contractors from Majuli, Ram Abatar Sharma and Ajit Bora, and both paid Rs 50 lakh and Rs 13.72 lakh respectively. After her arrest, she said that someone had created a conspiracy against her and got her arrested. Her ex-fiance was also arrested in the same case in 2021. Death

On the night of 15 May 2023, the vehicle in which she was travelling had a head-on collision with a container truck bearing registration number ‘UP 78UT 4518’ near Sarubhagia village on National Highway 37 at Kaliabor in Assam’s Nagaon district, leading to her death. ^[3]Northeast Now

• In 2021, she filed an FIR and arrested her fiance after he was caught duping people by making them believe that he was a Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in Assam. In an interview, while talking to the media, she said,
