Career
Hare Ram used to work as a compounder at Jawaharlal Medical College, Bhagalpur. However, he left his job in 1983 due to personal reasons and started farming with his family.
Narayan Sewa Aashram
In October 2023, during his appearance on ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati,’ Hare Ram shared that he rescued an abandoned infant girl child from the bushes of his village on 9 December 2004. He took the girl, whom he named Taapsee and was studying in class 10 in 2023, to his home. This incident led him to decide to rescue and care for every abandoned girl child until his death. Along with his wife, he then established ‘Narayan Sewa Aashram’ in their own home to provide shelter for these homeless girls. He also bore all their educational expenses. During a media conversation, he once shared the story behind the establishment of Narayan Sewa Aashram. He said,
I still remember that time. That day I had just woken up after doing sadhna when someone informed me that a little girl was found behind the Deoghar CBI Training Center. I ran there and brought the girl home. The condition of that girl was very bad. There were ants in her navel and she had gone into a coma. Her treatment lasted for about 21 days, after which she recovered completely.”

The orphaned girls in his ashram have ‘Hare Ram Pandey’ listed as their father’s name on their Aadhar card. According to Hare Ram Pandey, he sold his ancestral property and borrowed money from relatives for the upbringing of the abandoned girls.

Over time, many people began informing Hare Ram about girls who were wandering alone on the streets or in difficult situations. Whenever he heard such news, he would quickly help the needy girl child and bring her to his home. In 2023, five mentally handicapped girls were living in his house. Hare Ram’s son, daughter-in-law, and wife also assist him in this work. His daughter-in-law, Gayatri, teaches and helps the girls learn art and other skills, taking care of all their responsibilities. Thus, what Hare Ram started as a small act of kindness, his children continue to carry on.

- In a media interview in 2022, he revealed that he had taken up the responsibility of raising a girl from his family who had lost her mother when he was young.
- Soon after his appearance in season 15 of the Indian reality show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati,’ in one of his videos on the internet, he stated that he would rescue and take care of the orphaned girls till his death. He said,
Jitna puniya hume pujja path se nahi mila…utna punya mujhe inn betiyo ki seeva me mil raha hai… main yeh marte dum tak karta rahunga.”
