Mission Samvedna
Dr Syed Rizwan Ahmed started an initiative where he helped those in distress during the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative, called Mission Samvedna started when Ranjeet Singh Yadav, a friend of Dr Syed lent him a van which Dr Syed modified into a make-shift hearse. Dr Syed helped people by giving meals to those who needed them, including those working in the hospital and handling COVID-19 patients, and by helping people conduct funeral rituals for the loved ones they had lost. In an interview, Dr Syed said,
We cannot allow Covid-19 to enslave our courage and humanity. We have to take precautions but cannot stop helping others” [3]The Times of India
At a time when having a proper burial or even finding a mode of transportation was either not possible or extremely expensive, Dr Syed Rizwan Ahmed and Ranjeet Singh went around making the required arrangements for those in need.
