Dinesh Kumar

Dinesh Kumar is an Indian lawn bowls player. He hit the headlines in August 2022 when he clinched a silver medal in the lawn bowls fours event and created history along with his teammates Navneet Singh, Chandan Kumar Singh, and Sunil Bahadur at the 2022 Commonwealth Games organised in Birmingham. In the finals, the Indian lawn bowls team lost to England by 5-18 at the Victoria Park in Royal Leamington Spa.

Dinesh Kumar was born on Sunday, 16 June 1977 (age 45 years; as of 2022) in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. His zodiac sign is Gemini. He completed his school education at St. John’s High School, Ranchi, Jharkhand. Later, he joined Ranchi University, India to pursue high education.

In 2010, he participated in the national bowls championships organised in Delhi in the men’s pairs category and was ranked in the third pool. In the same year, he competed in the Commonwealth Games held in Delhi, India in the triples events. In 2014, he participated in the pairs and fours events at the Commonwealth Games organised in Glasgow. During the fours events, the Indian lawn bowls men’s team lost the bronze medal to Australia in a playoff match. In 2018, he participated in the Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia and competed in the triples and fours events. In these games, the Indian lawn bowls men’s team lost in the quarter-finals to Wales. In 2019, he participated in the Asia Pacific Bowls Championships organised in the Gold Coast, Queensland and won a bronze medal in a triples event. In 2020, Dinesh Kumar competed in the World Outdoor Bowls Championship held in Australia.
