Diganth Manchale is an Indian actor and former model, who predominantly works in the Kannada film industry. He is best known for his roles in the Kannada films Parijatha’ (2012), ‘Pancharangi’ (2010), and ‘Gaalipata’ (2008).

Diganth Manchale was born on Wednesday, 28 December 1983 (age 38 years; as of 2022) in Sagara, Karnataka. His zodiac sign is Capricorn. He did his schooling at Sevabharathi Higher Primary School in Thirthahalli and pre-university in Tunga Mahavidyalaya, Thirthahalli. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College in Bengaluru.

In 2006, Diganth made his acting debut with the Kannada film ‘Miss California’ in which he played the role of Diganth.

Diganth rose to fame after playing the role of Doodh peda in the film ‘Gaalipata,’ which was released in 2008.

In 2009, Diganth was cast to play the lead role of an orphan and unemployed man, Manohara, by Yogaraj Bhat in a romantic film titled Maanasare. Diganth’s wife, Aindrita Ray, also played the lead role in the film.

Later, Diganth worked in many Kannada films including Pancharangi (2010), Lifeu Ishtene (2011), Parijatha (2012), and Parapancha (2016).

Controversies

Sandalwood Drug Scandal

In September 2020, Diganth Manchale and his wife, Aindrita Ray, were summoned by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) after their names appeared in a notorious drug case in the Kannada film industry. Meanwhile, a video of his wife went viral in which she was inviting people to Bally’s Casino for their special Eid bash. Later, she issued a clarification on various news channels that she only did it for publicity as asked by the casino’s marketing team, and many more personalities from the Kannada film industry were also involved in the marketing campaign of the casino.

A few days later, Diganth was questioned for the second time by the CCB after he was accused of deleting some texts that he had sent to a few suspected African drug peddlers. Diganth commented on this and said,

I am cooperating with the CCB. If need be, I will again appear before them for questioning in this matter.”   [3]Zoom

Car accident case 

In 2017, the Bangalore industrialist Adikeshavulu’s grandson, Geetha Vishnu, was allegedly accused of possessing 850 grams of marijuana in his Mercedes-Benz after he met with an accident that left him and five other persons injured. [4]Deccan Herald It was revealed that he had partied with his friends, where he consumed marijuana right before the mishap. Some of the local news channels reported that the actors Prajwal Devaraj, Diganth Manchale, and Abishek Ambareesh were witnesses of the accident but escaped the crime scene. Diganth denied the rumours by saying that at the time of the accident, he was in Kanakpura, shooting for a movie, and he is nowhere associated with any drug. [5]International Business Times

Award

Diganth Manchale won the Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Kannada) Award at the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) for the film ‘Gaalipata 2.’ The event was held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE.
