His father, Captain Baldev Singh (deceased), was an army officer and ex-MLA from Khair, Aligarh. His mother, Krishna Kumari Devi, is the daughter of the Maharaja of Bolangir in Orissa. He has two brothers named Abhimanyu Raj Singh and Aditya Narain Singh; both are film producers. His brother Abhimanyu Raj Singh is often confused with the Indian actor Abhimanyu Singh.

  • In 2009, while he was skiing in Goa, he lost his grip on the ski. The speed of the boat became so high that his right hand was pulled off his shoulder joint.
