Amrutha Prem made her debut in Sandalwood with the film Tagaru Palya (2023) which was produced by Dolly Dhananjaney and directed by debutant Umesh K. Krupa. In an interview, Director Umesh K Krupa shared his experience working with Amrutha and said,
It is not easy to play the role of a village girl. Amrita acted as soon as possible after getting used to it and understanding that polite and delicate very quickly. They have control over language. Mandya slang is very well-spoken.”
Along with her studies, Amrutha Prem decided to pursue acting as her career path. She used to attend acting classes for two hours every day after college. In an interview, her father revealed that Amrutha Prem decided to pursue acting along with her studies, and said
It is a female-oriented subject, scenic and realistic and I thought it would be a perfect launch for my daughter. I discussed it with my daughter and she said she would balance studies and acting. We worked out a plan and then gave a nod. The Tagaru Palya team has appointed an acting coach. So after college, she attends acting classes every day for two hours, getting training in acting, dialogue delivery, body language and more.
