Viraj Ghelani is an Indian actor, comedian, content creator, YouTuber, and social media influencer, who is known for appearing in videos of YouTube channels like Dice Media, Gobble, and FilterCopy. In 2022, he played the role of Baldev in Vicky Kaushal starrer Hindi film ‘Govinda Naam Mera.’

Viraj Ghelani was born in 1993 (age 31 years; as of 2024) in South Borivali, Mumbai, Maharashtra. After completing his class 10, he studied at Abhinav Hi-Tech College of Engineering, Mumbai. He then enrolled himself at a college in Mumbai, but he did not like the environment of the college and dropped out from there within a year of joining it. Thereafter, he pursued a Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Thakur College of Science and Commerce, Mumbai. While he was studying at Thakur College of Science and Commerce, he performed in a comic act in which he portrayed the role of ex-Bigg Boss contestant Dolly Bindra. His performance was liked by the audience, and from there, he developed an interest in acting. He then hosted various events in his college and performed in various acts.

Thereafter, he enrolled himself in NMIMS, Mumbai, to pursue his higher studies. However, he soon realised that he was not meant for engineering, so he dropped out of college. He then started making videos on his Snapchat account which went viral. Later, the online portal BuzzFeed published an article ‘Top 20 Indians on Snapchat You Should Follow’ in which Viraj’s name was also listed. Gradually, he started gaining popularity. Thereafter, he sent his portfolio to digital platforms like TVF and FilterCopy.

Corporate Jobs

At the beginning of his career, he did a few corporate jobs in HR and sales. Viraj then got a job as a Snapchat videos manager at the digital entertainment company FilterCopy at a salary of Rs 16000-17000 per month. He has also worked as a content creator for FilterCopy’s sister concerns Dice Media and Gobble and the Indian media company Pocket Aces Pictures Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai.
