Film

In 2001, Vinoth made his acting debut as a child artist with the Tamil film Nandha in which he played the role of young Nandha.

In 2010, he shot to fame with his performance in the Tamil film Naan Mahaan Alla in which he played the role of a villain. He was nominated for the Best Villain award at the Vijay Awards.

In 2011, Vinoth made his Malayalam debut with the film Kanakompathu.

In 2012, he made his Telugu debut with the film Genius in which he played the role of Jeeva.

In 2013, he appeared as Chinnayyah in the Tamil film Vidiyum Munn. Later, he appeared in a few Tamil films Yaazh (2017) as Sudan, Imaikkaa Nodigal (2018) as Vineeth, and Adavi (2020) as Murugan. In 2020, Vinoth received positive acclaim for his performance in the Tamil film Andhaghaaram in which he played the role of a blind man, Selvam. Additionally, he was nominated for the Best Actor Award at the AV Cinema Awards for the film.

Television

In 2017, Vinoth made his television debut and participated in the Tamil dance competition television reality show Dance Jodi Dance (season 2) along with her choreographer, Jessie, on Zee Tamil.

The show pairs twelve celebrities with choreographers, and they proceed ahead competing against each other with their dance performances. In 2019, he participated again in season 3 of the reality show Dance Jodi Dance, along with choreographer Narana Joshan.

Web Series

In 2019, Vinoth made his digital debut with the Tamil web series Fingertip in which he played the role of Venkat on ZEE5.

In 2022, he acted in the web series Anantham as Ananth and Fingertip season 2 as Venkat on ZEE5. In 2023, Vinoth appeared in the web series Story Of Things on SonyLIV.
