Tarkishore was born in 1956 (age 64 years; as of 2020) in Talkhua village located in Bihar’s Saharsa district. His full name is Tarkishore Prasad Bhagat. Prasad completed matriculation from High School Katihar in 1970, and then intermediate education from Darshan Sah College, Katihar. He worked for the RSS in various superior positions and then used the RSS ladder to gradually climb into politics.

After the victory in the 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly election, the NDA government in Bihar appointed him and Renu Devi as the two deputy CMs of Bihar. He has been allotted the finance, commercial tax, environment, forest and disaster management, urban development, and information technology departments in Bihar government. He is also the leader of BJP’s legislature party in Bihar.
