In a media interview, Sreejita De talked about her relationship with her ex-boyfriend and said that they broke up because he used to intrude on her personal space. She quoted,

When I started dating him, I didn’t know that I’ll have to change myself completely to win his love. He too, felt that once I fall in love with him, I will be exactly the way he wants me to be. He had issues with my profession and even changed the way I dressed. He wanted regular updates on what I am doing on the sets and who I am spending time with. I also had to be at home most of the time because he hated going out for parties or enjoying an evening out. Later, she started dating Michael Blohm-Pape. In 2019, Michael and Sreejita met for the first time in a restaurant. According to Sreejita, she initiated a conversation by exchanging numbers with him, and soon, they started dating each other. In an interview, Sreejita talked about her relationship with Michael and said,

He is very supportive, motivating and my true friend. There are days when because of work pressure or something else you feel down and don’t feel motivated, that time he motivates me so much that I forget my worries.We have to now take a decision at the soonest and what I can think of right now is that the marriage will happen only next year. Early next year or maybe summer next year, I am just keeping my fingers crossed. I hope the situation gets better and everybody can be around us.”

Television Show

In 2006, Sreejita De made her acting debut with the Hindi television series Ssshhhh… Phir Koi Hai in which she played the role of Mona. In 2007, she appeared in the television show Kasautii Zindagii Kay in which she played the lead role of Gargi Bajaj.

In the same year, she played the lead role of Annu in the Hindi television show Annu Ki Ho Gayee Wah Bhai Wah. In an interview, Sreejita De talked about her role in the TV show and said,

I am loving every moment of it. I have a good show, a good role with one of the best production houses in TV today. I was surprised when they offered me the lead role, but seeing their faith in me, I wanted to do it. Annu is an extremely exciting and interesting role, its great fun being Annu.”

Subsequently, Sreejita appeared in various television shows like Tum Hi Ho Bandhu Sakha Tumhi (2015), Aye Zindagi (2017), Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai (2017), Uttaran (2017), Rescue (2019), and The Return (2021). In 2022, she appeared in the Hindi television reality show Big Boss 16. In an interview, she talked about the TV reality show and said,

As an actor, you play characters that are written for you by script writers, which we definitely enjoy.  However, your fans and your audience have never had a chance to witness the real you. And for that, Bigg Boss is the right and infact the only platform that can help people know you upclose. It is like you are your own script writer, you write your own character and show it to the audience. So, this is what I absolutely love about Bigg Boss.

In 2011, Sreejita made her film debut with the Hindi film Luv Ka The End in which she played the cameo role of Sonia Lovani. In 2013, she appeared in the Hindi film Monsoon Shootout in which she played the role of Geeta.

Controversy

During the shooting of the TV serial Uttaran, there were catfights between Tina Datta and Sreejita De. Reportedly, Tina Datta and Sreejita De accused each other of unprofessional behaviour that included copying each other’s style and sartorial choices on the sets of the TV show Uttaran. ^[2]Amar Ujala

  As a student I was little bit obedient. I was very much into studies. I was a little stubborn for e.g. when I did my schooling my parents were forcing me to take up commerce as they thought it is good for the prospects in the future but I wanted to take science, so I took it up as I was confident enough to make good in this stream. I was never a drop out from the college.”

• In 2008, Sreejita De lost a solitaire ring worth Rs 95,000 while shooting for an episode of her serial Annu Ki Ho Gayi Wah Bhai Wah on Star One. According to Sreejita, the solitaire ring was gifted to her by her boyfriend. In an interview, Sreejita explained it and said,
  

  We were supposed to shoot for a scene where two engagements were taking place. The unit members forgot to get a dummy ring and the shooting was held up. My co-star Amit Verma suggested that I should use my ring so that the shoot could continue. I agreed. When the scene was shot, I ran to the monitor to take a look. Then when I asked for my ring, no one had any clue where it was. I was heartbroken and burst into tears. I even screamed at the unit members, but that was of no use.” ^[5]The Times of India
