Career

Singer

From the time he was studying in school and college, he started participating in various singing competitions. He also participated in various reality TV singing shows like ‘Folk Star Dhoom Thadaka.’

One of his memorable performances was at the opening ceremony of Martyrs Jyoti. In 2017, he created his YouTube channel named ‘Saichand Songs’ where he shared videos of his songs like ‘Jeena Haito Marna Seekho,’ ‘Gulaabiveerudo,’ ‘Amma Paata,’ and ‘Rathibommalona.’

 

His channel has about 35 videos and 20.5k subscribers.

Member of TRS

On 6 September 2003, he joined the Indian political party ‘Telangana Rastra Samithi’ (TRS) now known as Bharat Rashtra Samithi.

He also played a role in the movement for the formation of the state of Telangana. During the second phase of the Telangana movement, he used his songs and dance to inspire people and foster the spirit of the formation of Telangana. He actively worked to raise awareness about the government’s development and welfare programs after the formation of the state. In December 2021, Sai Chand was appointed as the Chairman of the Telangana State Warehouse Corporation. In 2023, his name was put forward as a candidate for the Member of Legislative Council (MLC) from the Mahbubnagar local authority constituency. However, later on, his name was removed from the list of candidates.

Death

On 29 June 2023, he passed away due to a cardiac arrest. The day before his death, Sai visited his farmhouse in Karukonda, located in the Nagarkurnool district, Telangana, along with his family. Late at night, he started experiencing chest pain, and he was immediately taken to a hospital in Nagarkurnool. Later, he was transferred to Care Hospital in Hyderabad, where the doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. ^[4]The Hindu On his demise, the Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrashekar Rao, expressed his grief. Rao emphasized that Sai played a significant role in the cultural movement during the Telangana statehood agitation, and his contribution was priceless. Rao also mentioned that Sai’s performances were an integral part of his public meetings, and they were never conducted without him.
