Television
He made his debut in the Malayalam television industry with the 2007 show Screen Test in which he appeared as a contestant. The show was aired on the Asianet channel. In 2018, he essayed the role of a character named Nandan in a serial titled Ilayaval Gayathri. He was seen as a mentor in the reality show Dance Kerala Dance, which was aired on Zee Keralam in 2019.
Films
Harikrishnan made his acting debut in the Malayalam film industry with the 2010 film Malarvaadi Arts Club in which he appeared as a character named Praveen. The film was a commercial success.

He made a cameo in Doctor Love, which was released in 2011. In 2012, he played the role of Richard in the film Chattakkari for which he gained recognition in the Malayalam film industry. In 2014, he appeared in several Malayalam films, including Ohm Shanthi Oshaana as Yardley, Monayi Angane Aanayi as Aadhi, and Kurutham Kettavan as Johny. He essayed the role of Lolan in the 2015 film Aadu – Oru Bheegara Jeevi Aanu. In the same year, Harikrishnan shared the screen with Jackie Shroff in the film ATM. In an interview, he talked about working with Jackie and said,
Jackie Shroff is someone I grew up watching on screen as a kid. So when I came to know that I would be working along with him, I was excited. I mean, here was a very experienced and veteran Bollywood actor I used to admire, and I was getting to share screen space with him! I was very tense initially, but he was very friendly on the sets and immediately put me at ease. It was great just watching him work and he behaved more like a long-lost friend than a Bollywood celebrity. It was a great opportunity.”

He appeared in Georgettan’s Pooram and Aadu 2; the films were released in 2017. He played the role of an inspector named Arun Mathew in the 2020 film Anjaam Pathiraa.

In 2021, he essayed the roles of Bell Man in The Last Two Days and Arjun in Sara’S. The films were released on Sainaplay and Amazon Prime respectively.
Apart from acting in films, he has appeared in several music videos such as Doore, Madhura Kinavin, and Ente Jeevante Paathi. He landed the role of a character named Mathew in the 2022 film Jana Gana Mana. In the same year, he appeared as himself in the film Aanandam Paramanandam. In 2023, he appeared as Alex in the film “2018” (also known as 2018: Everyone is a Hero). The film became India’s official entry for the Oscars in 2024, following its nomination in 2023.
