In June 2010, she joined the University of Chicago Medicine as a Resident Physician. From 2016 to 2018, she did a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) at the University of Texas at Southwestern Medical Center. She joined the University of Maryland School of Medicine as Assistant Professor in October 2018. In 2022, Rena Malik became an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Division of Urology and also served as the Director of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She specializes in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS).
