Bodhisattva Sharma was born on Tuesday, 23 September 2003 (age 20 years; as of 2023) in Assam, India. His zodiac sign is Libra. At the age of 5, he moved to New Delhi with his family.
He pursued his schooling at Modern School Barakhamba Road in New Delhi. Later, he pursued graduation in English Literature at the Indira Gandhi National Open University. During his teenage years, he moved to Mumbai to pursue acting. Talking about moving to Mumbai, in an interview, he claimed that his aim was only to get good work and not chase fame. He said,
I did not come to Mumbai with dreams of becoming a superstar. Seeking popularity has never been a goal. It can be a by-product. Good work is what I like to chase.”

Theatre
At the age of 10, Bodhisattva Sharma began acting, while he was in fourth grade, he was cast for a role in an Assamese theatre play while he was there to attend his brother’s play’s practice. After that, he found his passion in acting and joined a theatre group in Delhi named Little Theatre Group. He acted in many productions for the theatre group and also received many travel fellowships to perform in various states of India.
Web Series
During one of the practice sessions of his theatre group, Bodhisattva Sharma was cast for the role of Siddharth Chaudhary in the web series Paatal Lok (2020). He made his debut in OTT platforms with Paatal Lok.
In 2021, he appeared in the web series Candy (2021) on Voot Originals as Imran Ahmed. He has also appeared in Rana Naidu (2023) as Rehaan.
Films
Bodhisattva Sharma made his film debut with the Bollywood film Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2 – Agni Pariksha. He played the role of Basheshwar Thakur or Bacchu in the film. In 2024, he appeared as the lead actor in the Bollywood film All India Rank. He played the role of Vivek, a 17-year-old IIT aspirant.
The film was screened at various film festivals across the globe including International Film Festival Rotterdam, Dharamshala International Film Festival, and Mumbai Film Festival, where Bodhisattva’s role was admired by many. In an interview, Bodhisattva revealed that as he had never gone to Kota, so to prepare for the role, he took help from his relatives and friends who studied in Kota. He said,
I don’t have any direct friends who went to Kota to prepare for the IIT entrance exam, so I spoke with friends of friends. They told me about their experiences and shared pictures.I watched a lot of old Hindi films; Varun sir made me check out a lot of old Limca ads. Then there were tons of movie recommendations, ranging from The Breakfast Club to The 400 Blows. I decided Vivek’s favourite film to be Masoom.” [1]The Federal

- In 2023, during the preparation for his role in the Bollywood film All India Rank (2024), Bodhisattva went through crash courses on eleventh and twelfth-grade maths and science courses. He was taught by Vaibhav Varun. [2]OTT Play
- According to Bodhisattva, he was a big fan of Varun Grover and really admired his work and always aspired to work with him. He said,
My mom introduced me to Varun Sir’s stand-up comedy. She is a massive fan, she made me watch Masaan, which Varun Sir wrote. I fell in love with that film. I had watched the show Sacred Games but didn’t know that Varun Sir had co-written it. When I learnt that he also wrote songs for films like Gangs of Wasseypur and Udta Punjab, I was even more impressed.”
