Bhayyuji was a prestigious spiritual leader. He belonged to an agricultural family of Madhya Pradesh. In order to build his career, he worked very hard. After graduation, he did many small jobs for his living and later got successful to attain a suitable job at a Mahindra cement plant. When he came into contact with Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, he decided to join Indian politics.

Maharaji appeared on headlines nationwide, when the central government sent him as its ambassador to break the fast of Anna Hazare during Lokpal agitation of 2011. Anna Hazare broke his fast after taking juice from him.

On 12 June 2018, at around 12:15 pm, he committed suicide by shooting himself with his personal licenced revolver at his residence in Indore. He mentioned the reason for his death as deep mental stress in a suicide note. He also appealed in it to take care of his family by someone.

Born on 29 April 1968 at Shujalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Bhayyuji Maharaj belonged to a Maratha agriculturist family at Indore in Madhya Pradesh (India). His real name was Udai Singh Deshmukh. His father’s name was Vishwas Rao Deshmukh and mother’s name was Kumudini Devi. He had also two sisters.

He married a girl named Madhavi, and in 2002, became the father of a daughter Kuhu. Unfortunately, Madhavi died in 2015, and after two years of her death, on 30 April 2017, he tied the knot with Ayushi Sharma, a doctor.

Career

After completing his B.Sc (Bachelor of Science), Maharaj did various small jobs and even worked as a part-time model for ‘Siyaram Suitings.’ However, with a lot of efforts and hard work, finally, he got the job of a project engineer at a Mahindra cement plant.

When politician Anil Deshmukh introduced him to the Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, he got involved in politics and played an important role for the upliftment of Congress party in Maratha region.

Later, he developed intimacy for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat. Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan also offered him a position in the state ministery which he rejected.

Controversy

In 2017, a Mumbai-based writer Mallika Rajput accused Bhayyuji of cheating her. According to her, when she met him for the first time, he asked her to write a book on his life. She accepted the offer and after writing his biography, she gave 950 copies of that book to Bhayyuji. Mallika claimed that he didn’t release her book and even not returned those copies to her. However, Yuva Rashtra Sant described it a vague information, and the trust didn’t give clearance to the book.
