Career
After working as an intern in various companies, Atulya joined Google as a Software Development Engineer (SDE) in 2015. Atulya, in 2016, joined Instamojo and worked as the Head of Partnerships and Alliances. While working at a startup, he observed a significant reduction in the company’s workforce of nearly 50% due to a funding crunch, which sparked a constant sense of apprehension about his own job security. As he contemplated the irony of being the highest-paid graduate in his batch yet still feeling uncertain about his job security, Atulya’s entrepreneurial spirit was reignited, but with a newfound clarity and vision for the future. In July 2017, Atulya made an investment of Rs 99 (approximately 1.21 USD) to purchase the domain ‘prepinsta.com.’ Remarkably, this has been the sole expenditure incurred by the company thus far. Interestingly, PrepInsta even generated revenue on its very first day of operation. Atulya later asked his friends Aashay Mishra and Manish Agarwal to join him as co-founders of the company PrepInsta. What had initially been a passion project soon transformed into a viable business opportunity, prompting the three individuals to leave their full-time employment and set up an office for their startup in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Since the outset, Atulya has been unwavering in his commitment to educate and empower India’s youth, enabling them to secure high-paying jobs at their desired companies by leveraging the best available resources at an affordable price. To realise his vision, Atulya and his team launched PrepInsta Prime, the first-ever over-the-top (OTT) platform dedicated to placements and upskilling, on 7 July 2021. PrepInsta Prime has disrupted the conventional approach to placement preparation by offering a user-friendly platform that resembles popular streaming services, resulting in a substantial boost in user engagement. To date, the company has aided numerous graduates in securing coveted positions at their desired companies. It’s astounding to consider that this company’s inception was marked by a modest investment of just Rs.99, and as of March 2023, it has amassed a net worth of INR 200 Cr. With a team of over 1000 employees, PrepInsta continues to expand its footprint and drive positive change in the education and job placement sectors.
