Akhilendra Mishra is an Indian actor. He is best known for playing the role of ‘Karoor Singh’ in the TV serial “Chandrakanta” (1990s). Mishra mostly plays villainous and comic roles.
Akhilendra Mishra was born on 28 March 1962 (age 57 years; as in 2019) in Chhapra, Bihar, India. He spent four years of his childhood in a gurukul in the city where his father worked. Akhilendra attended Chhapra Zila School and went to Chapra’s Rajendra College to pursue BSc in Physics Honours. Mishra wanted to be an Engineer but his interest in acting encouraged him to enter the film industry. He started doing theatre at a very young age and did his first role in a Bhojpuri drama “Gauna Ki Rat” which was based on child marriage.
Later, he joined IPTA (Indian People’s Theatre Association) and Ekjut theatre group to learn acting.

Akhilendra was born into a Hindu Brahmin Family. Not much is known about his parents. He is married and has a daughter and a son.
Akhilendra started his acting career in 1990 with the TV serial “Udaan.” Next, he played the role of Kroor Singh in Doordarshan’s television series “Chandrakanta.” His role was praised by the public.
Mishra debuted in films in 1993 with the film “Bedardi.” Subsequently, he featured in movies like “Lagaan,” “Gangajal,” “Hulchal,” “Dewar,” “Muavza,” “Veer-Zara,” “Do Duni Char,” and “Kabil.”
He has also appeared in several TV serials including “Bhagyavidhaata,” “Ramayan,” “Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev,” “Diya Aur Baati Hum,” and “Tu Mera Hero.”
Mishra played the role of ‘Kans’ in the “Mahabharata.”
In 2019, he featured as the father-in-law of the lead in Star Bharat’s romantic comedy show “Pyaar Ke Papad.”
