Akhilendra Mishra

Akhilendra Mishra is an Indian actor. He is best known for playing the role of ‘Karoor Singh’ in the TV serial “Chandrakanta” (1990s). Mishra mostly plays villainous and comic roles.

Akhilendra Mishra was born onĀ 28 March 1962 (age 57 years; as in 2019) inĀ Chhapra, Bihar, India. He spent four years of his childhood in a gurukul in the city where his father worked. Akhilendra attendedĀ Chhapra Zila School and went to Chapra’s Rajendra College to pursueĀ BSc in Physics Honours. Mishra wanted to be an Engineer but his interest in acting encouraged him to enter the film industry. He started doing theatre at a very young age and did his first role in a Bhojpuri drama “Gauna Ki Rat” which was based on child marriage.

Later, he joined IPTAĀ (Indian Peopleā€™s Theatre Association) and Ekjut theatre group to learn acting.

Career

Akhilendra started his acting career in 1990 with the TV serial “Udaan.” Next, he played the role of Kroor Singh in Doordarshan’s television series “Chandrakanta.” His role was praised by the public.

Mishra debuted in films in 1993 with the film “Bedardi.” Subsequently, he featured in movies like “Lagaan,” “Gangajal,” “Hulchal,” “Dewar,” “Muavza,” “Veer-Zara,” “Do DuniĀ Char,” and “Kabil.”

He has also appeared in several TV serials including “Bhagyavidhaata,” “Ramayan,” “Devon Ke Devā€¦Mahadev,” “Diya Aur Baati Hum,” and “Tu Mera Hero.”

Mishra played the role of ‘Kans’ in the “Mahabharata.”
