Mayuri Kango is a former Indian actress known for her work in Bollywood films and Hindi television series. She was appointed as the Head of Industry by Google India in 2019.

Mayuri Kango was born in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. She did her schooling at Saint Francis De Sales High School, Aurangabad. She pursued her bachelor’s degree at Deogiri College, Aurangabad. She pursued an MBA in marketing and finance at the Baruch College of Zicklin School of Business, New York.

Mayuri Kango made her acting debut with the 1995 National Award-winning film ‘Naseem’ in which she played the lead role of Naseem.

Her performance as Sweety Anand in the film ‘Papa Kahte Hain’ (1996) received a huge acclamation from the audience.

Mayuri Kango made her television debut in 2001 with the television series ‘Nargis’ which aired on DD-Metro. In the same year, she appeared in the television series ‘Thoda Gham Thodi Khushi,’ ‘Dollar Bahu,’ ‘Kaahin Kissii Roz’ and the music television series ‘Rangoli.’ Some other television series in which she worked include ‘Kittie Party’ (2002), ‘Karishma- The Miracles of Destiny’ (2003), ‘Kkusum’ (2003), and ‘Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat’ (2004).

Mayuri Kango worked as a Managing Director for the performance marketing agency ‘Performics’ in Gurgaon, India. She worked there for more than two years (June 2016-March 2019).

In March 2019, Kango was appointed as Head of Industry – Agency partnerships in Google India.

Facts/Trivia

  • In an interview, Mayuri Kango revealed that she started performing in theatrical plays when she was a child. She said that as her mother was a theatrical artist, she too joined her in the theatre, it is from where she grew an interest in acting.
  • In an interview, she revealed that she has cleared her entrance exam for IIT but later she decided to pursue a career in acting when she was only 15 years old; however, she left the film industry in 2007 and started working in Corporate companies.
  • After her marriage in 2003, Kango moved to the US and worked there from 2004-2012. She moved back to India in 2012, after the birth of her son.
  • She believes that film actor should complete their studies and have a backup option before taking a break from the film industry. While talking about this in an interview, she said,

    People should complete their education before they come looking for that big break in Bollywood. Especially the actress, their career in the industry lasts only around ten years. Have a backup option.” [1]The Indian Express
