Shivani Pruthvi was born on Saturday, 22 November 1997 (age 26 years; as of 2023) in Davanagere, Karnataka, India. Her zodiac sign is Sagittarius.

She learnt roller skating when she was 5 years old and later competed in state-level tournaments and played basketball, tennis, and table tennis as well during her school days. She also showed a passion for bikes and cars during her childhood.

Her father, BS Pruthvi, is a former racer who is popular in Bengaluru for once doing a 60 km race on a flat tire. Her mother, Deepti Pruthvi, is a doctor and navigator who participated in rallies with Shivani. She is the only child of her parents.

Career

Rally Driver

Shivani Pruthvi started racing when she was studying in the second year of MBBS in 2018. She was preparing for semester exams which made her feel exhausted as she could not play any sports during the preparation. After exams, Shivani approached her father and asked him to teach her racing after which her father started teaching her on the same day. She initially trained at her factory’s compound where many cement water pipes were kept in open.

In 2018, she competed in her first race, Autocross in Kochi. She later joined Ahura Racing, India’s first all-women racing team and competed in Volkswagen Motorsport India’s Ameo Cup.

In 2019, she competed in her first rally, the South India Rally of 2019 INRC (Indian National Rally Championship) held in Chennai. In 2019, she raced in the Indian National Autocross Championship, Mysuru Dasara Gravel Fest, and Asia Auto Gymkhana Championship.

She started competing in races with her mother, Deepti Pruthvi, as her navigator in 2019, and their first rally was the South Indian Rally 2019. She also won Times Women’s Drive with her mother, for two consecutive years, in 2018 and 2019.

In 2021, she took part in the KMS 50 Grand Prix held in Coimbatore. She took part in the Rally of Himalayas in 2021 with another racer Deeksha Balakrishna.

• She was an NCC (National Cadet Corps) cadet during her school days and took part in the Republic Day Camp in 2011 and 2014. She also marched during the Republic Day Parade at Rajpath in 2014 and led the contingent of Karnataka and Goa in the Prime Minister’s rally in 2014. She was the Indian delegate to Singapore at the International Cadet Exchange Program 2014 (ICEP).
