‘Rachael Maria,’ known as Richa Adhia was born on Sunday, 1 May 1988 (age 35 years; as of 2023) in Mwanza, Tanzania. Her zodiac sign is Taurus. Richa did her primary schooling at Lake English Medium Primary School and later moved to the city of Dar Es Salaam and continued her studies at Shaban Robert Secondary School. She began her career by modeling at the age of 13.

Miss Earth Tanzania 2006
Richa Adhia won the title ‘Miss Earth Tanzania’ in 2006. She represented Tanzania in the Miss Earth contest held in the Philippines in 2006, where she was regarded as the strongest contestant from Africa. She was among one of the top 15 best swimsuit contestants in the show. However, she failed to be amongst the semifinalists in the final show.
Miss Tanzania 2007
She further went on to participate in other regional beauty contests and won the title of Miss Kinondoni in 2007. She was then entitled to compete in Miss Tanzania 2007, which she also won. Richa went ahead to participate in Miss World 2007 contest, held in China, and became the first Asian contestant to compete on behalf of an East African nation in the Miss World pageant.

Miss India Tanzania 2010
Richa was given a chance to represent Tanzania in the Miss India Worldwide contest, which was held in Durban, South Africa. She was among the top ten contestants and achieved an award for being the top model.

Controversy
Due to the fact that she was of Indian ethnicity, there was controversy around her victory. Nevertheless, despite the conflicting responses, she went on to compete in the Miss World 2007 pageant in China.
