In 2020, Mehreen Gandhi became the co-owner of BR Detailers, India’s first Turtle Wax Brand Store. In an interview, when asked about the initial journey of her career, she said

In the past, I started a detailing workshop where I spent my free time working on cars. Throughout the day, photographers would come and go to capture the entire process of the work being done on cars, from start to finish. Then, one day, one of my cinematographers took a few shots of me while I was polishing and applying paint protection film on a car. He quickly compiled these shots into a reel and showed it to me. I loved it and decided to casually post the reel on my Instagram, just for fun. To my surprise, the video quickly went viral, and little did I know that day, influencing would become such a significant part of my life, which I now thoroughly enjoy.”
