Actor
Joju first appeared in a minor role as a college student named Siby Jacob in the film Mazhavilkoodaram (1995). He also worked as an assistant director for a few films before appearing in supporting roles. He then appeared in minor roles in some of the hit films like Friends (1999), Ravanaprabhu (2001), Manassinakkare (2003), and Chanthupottu (2005). He received wide appreciation for his supporting roles in Neram (2013) as Sai Prashanth, Pullipulikalum Aattinkuttiyum (2013) as Chakkattutharayil Suku, and in 1983 (2014) as the cricket coach David.
Also, he received his first Kerala State Film Award in the Special Mention category for his supporting roles in the films Oru Second Class Yathra (2015) and Lukka Chuppi (2015).
His first lead role was the title character Joseph Parekkattil in the film Joseph (2018). The film was a commercial success and the role received several awards and appreciation.
The characters Panama Joy Kalarickal in the film June (2019), Sabu in the film Madhuram (2021), and the dual role in the film Iratta (2023) received a lot of appreciation from the audience.
In his first Tamil film, Jagame Thandhiram (2021), directed by Karthik Subbaraj, he appeared in a character role named Sivadoss.
His first Telugu film was as the character Chenga Reddy in Aadikeshava (2023). The action thriller film Antony (2023) in which he essayed the role of Antony Anthrapper was released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
Producer
He became a producer with the Malayalam film Charlie (2015). The film was a success at the box office. He and Martin Prakkat together were the producers of the Malayalam film Udaharanam Sujatha (2017), which was also a commercial success. He launched his own production company called the Appu Pathu Pappu Production House which produced the Malayalam films Joseph (2018), Chola (2019), Porinju Mariam Jose (2019), Madhuram (2021), and Iratta (2023).
Playback Singer
His first song was Pandu Paadavarambathiloode for the film Joseph (2018). He sang Chandrakaladharan for the film Adhrishyam (2022), Kallatharam for the film Peace (2022), and Enthinaadi Poonkodiye for the film Iratta (2023).
Controversy
A political party files a complaint about Joju’s off-road ride
A complaint was registered by the Kerala Students Union (KSU) against Joju George in 2022, stating that he was part of an off-road event that happened at a location exclusively meant for farming. A row over a road-blocking protest
Joju George got into a row with a political party for a road-blocking protest which led to the party accusing him of being in a drunken condition.
