Teaching

Before beginning with acting, Girish used to work as a teacher. He quit his job because of his passion for theatre and acting.

After quitting his job as a teacher, he joined theatre. He used to love watching his father Balraj Thapar on stage as he was also a theatre artist. Girish made a debut with the play “Chauraha” in which he played eight different roles. He got a lot of appreciation for his first act. He has also done anchoring for various stage shows.

He made a debut in 2002 with the film Bharat Bhagya Vidhata in which he played the role of a police havaldar.

His other famous Bollywood films are Ek Paheli Leela (2015), Poster Boys (2017), Race 3 (2018), Housefull 4 (2019), Bunty Aur Babli 2 (2021) and many more. His role in the film Ek Paheli Leela as Samar Singh has helped him to gain recognition and opportunities in Bollywood.
