Akash Paramjit Vasisht was born on Saturday, 17 December 1994 (age 28 years; as of 2022) in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. His zodiac sign is Sagittarius. He grew up in Amritsar, Punjab. Akash Vasisht represented Himachal Pradesh in Under-19s and Under-22s teams at the beginning.

He made his first-class debut for Himachal Pradesh on 28 December 2014 against Assam in the Ranji Trophy 2014/15 at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. He was a part of the winning squad for the Lakshya Champions Trophy in February 2018.

He made his Twenty20 debut for Himachal Pradesh on 18 November 2019 against Railways in the 2019–20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at Sector 16 Stadium, Chandigarh.

In February 2020, Akash scored his maiden century in first-class cricket with 141 runs for Himachal Pradesh during Ranji Trophy against Uttar Pradesh. He made his List A debut for Himachal Pradesh on 21 February 2021 against Maharashtra in the 2020–21 Vijay Hazare Trophy at KL Saini Ground, Jaipur; Maharashtra won by 59 runs. He was a part of the Himachal Pradesh team which had its maiden win in the Vijay Hazare Trophy during the 2021–22 season.

He made heads turn with his performance in the 2022-23 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in which he finished as Himachal Pradesh’s highest run-getter with 216 runs at an average of 54 and a strike-rate of 163.63.
