Basil Joseph is an Indian film director, actor, and writer, who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry. He is known for directing the Malayalam films Kunjiramayanam (2015), Godha (2017), and Minnal Murali (2021).

Basil Joseph was born on Saturday, 28 April 1990 (age 32 years; as of 2022) in Sulthan Bathery, Kerala. Basil completed his education till 10th standard at St. Joseph’s English Higher Secondary School, Sulthan Bathery. Then, he attended SKMJ Higher Secondary School for 11th and 12th standards. Basil graduated with a B.Tech degree from the College of Engineering in Trivandrum.

After completing the B.Tech degree, Basil worked as a System Engineer at Infosys in Trivandrum.

Basil Joseph’s directorial debut was in 2015 with the Malayalam film ‘Kunjiramayanam.’ In 2017, Basil Joseph directed another Malayalam film titled Godha, starring Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi. At the Kerala box office alone, ‘Godha’ made a business of over Rs. 8.5 crore in 11 days. In 2021, Basil directed the Malayalam film ‘Minnal Murali,’ which was released on Netflix India.
