Career

Arjun started playing badminton in 2008 at the FACT club in Kochi, Kerala when he was 9 years old. After three years, he moved to the badminton academy at the Regional Sports Centre in Kadavanthra, Kochi, where his coach M. Mohanachandran introduced him to doubles play. Shifting his focus entirely to doubles, Arjun became a player in the Kerala team from 2012 onwards. In 2018, Arjun joined the Awadhe Warriors badminton team.

He secured the runner-up position in the mixed doubles category at the 2022 Odisha Open, which is a Super 100 level tournament, alongside his partner Treesa Jolly. In the BWF Junior International, he earned five titles and finished as a runner-up once each in boys’ doubles and mixed doubles events. In the BWF International Challenge/Series, Arjun was victorious in nine men’s doubles events and finished as a runner-up five times. Arjun and his team won the 2022 Thomas & Uber Cup in the men’s team event. His teammates were Lakshya Sen, Srikanth Kidambi, Prannoy H. S. Priyanshu Rajawat, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Chirag Shetty, Dhruv Kapila, Krishna Prasad Garaga, and Vishnuvardhan Goud Panjala.

Arjun won the men’s team event silver medal at the 19th Asian Games. He also took part in the individual event but had to concede after facing an injury. Arjun is ranked No. 22 in the men’s doubles category and No. 84 in the mixed doubles category as of 2023.
