In 2021, Anil Kumar was appointed as a raider for the Indian Navy Mumbai’s kabaddi team and represented the team in the 38th All India Men Kabaddi Championship which was held in Gotegaon, Madhya Pradesh. Anil played 2 matches in the tournament and held an average strike rate of 50%. In 2022, Anil was picked out by the Lucknown-based kabaddi team ‘UP Yoddhas’ for season 9 of the Pro Kabaddi League. He was bought for Rs. 8.78 lakhs as a raider under the category of New Young Players (NYP).
