Chintan Rachchh

Chintan Rachchh is an Indian actor and poet. He is known for reciting self-written poetry that he shares on social media. He made his Bollywood debut with the Netflix series “Class.”

He was born on Monday, 5 July 1999 (age 24 years; as of 2023) in Rajkot, Gujarat. He did his schooling at the Genius English Medium School in Rajkot, Gujarat. At the age of nine, he started performing as an actor in plays in Gujarati theatres. He dropped out of IIIT Karnataka and moved to Mumbai to pursue engineering and acting in 2018.

Career

Chintan Rachchh began his career as a theatre artist and worked in theatre productions in various capacities. He made his first play titled “Three Friends” when he was in ninth standard. The play was performed at the Rotary Club in Rajkot in 2012. In 2023, he made his onscreen debut with the web series “Class” which premiered on Netflix, in which he played a gay character named Faruq Manzoor.

He has modelled in the advertisements of various clothing brands including MiGear India, and Pantaloons.

Apart from being an actor, he is also a well-known social media poet. He often recites his poetry in poetry events in ‘The Habitat Studios’ and ‘Mirchi Mehfil.’

  • In an interview, he said that he loves to jot down his ideas. He revealed that when he was in school, he used to participate in competitions for creative writing. He also won the Article Gure Writing Contest in 2018.

  • He often participates in poetry sessions. In April 2018, he participated in the poetry session “Kavi Tales” held at ‘The Fern Hotels & Resorts’ in Rajkot, Gujarat.
  • Talking about his role as Faruq Manqoor in “Class,” in an interview, Rachchh revealed that he couldn’t relate to the attributes of his role. He said,

    I didn’t relate to a single attribute of Faruq. I had to work on a few things starting from vocals to grasping his posture, the external factors and finally understanding the psychology of the character.”

  • In an interview, when he was asked about his inspiration behind writing poetry, he said,

    I can’t speak my mind most of the time and that’s why I resort to poetry. I love this camouflage. Talking in metaphors makes my mind feel protected and at the same time, also helps me express myself to a certain extent. “

  • In an interview, Chintan Rachchh revealed that he used to participate in theatre plays when he was in school, and in 2016, he got the chance to work with Pratik Gandhi, a well-known theatre artist and actor in Gujarati cinema, which Rachchh considers a “once in a lifetime opportunity.”
