Career
Ashutosh Sharma’s father, Ram Babu Sharma, encouraged Ashutosh to join the Railways Cricket Club academy after completing his school education. As Sharma’s skills improved, he played under-14 and under-16 cricket for his district and eventually moved to Indore with the help of former India cricketer Amay Khurasiya in 2016. In the same year, Ashutosh made his debut for the Madhya Pradesh under-19 cricket team, where he continued to demonstrate his skills in the sport.
On 12 January 2018, Ashutosh Sharma made his debut in Twenty20 cricket for Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association in the 2017-18 Zonal T20 League. On 16 October 2019, he made his List A debut and also represented Madhya Pradesh in the 2019-20 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
In 2022, he started working as a junior clerk at Railways and moved to Bhopal. During the same year, he participated in the Colonel CK Nayudu Trophy. Although he did not get a chance to bat in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Manipur, he later played well against the Arunachal cricket team. In October 2023, Ashutosh Sharma participated in a Group C match during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy matches held in Ranchi, India, and hit a half-century in eleven balls against the Arunachal Pradesh cricket team.
Punjab Kings bought him for Rs. 20 lakh during the 2024 IPl auctions. Ashutosh Sharma was appreciated for scoring 31 off 17 balls in a match against Gujarat Titans; he played as an impact player in the match.

- At the age of twelve, he met Sanjay Bangar, who was then associated with the now-defunct Kochi franchise, during an IPL match in which Ashutosh was a ball boy. Ashutosh later trained under Bnagar after he was selected for the Punjab Kings.
